Litha:Celebrating the Summer Solstice

Litha, also known as the Summer Solstice, is a significant pagan festival that celebrates the longest day of

the year, a pivotal moment when the sun reaches its peak before beginning its gradual descent. It falls around June 20th-22nd in the Northern Hemisphere and marks the official beginning of summer.

Litha is a joyous celebration of life and the natural world, highlighting the importance of seasonal cycles,  the masculine yang energy, and the interconnectedness of all things. It's a time to embrace the warmth of the sun, cultivate gratitude for nature's gifts, and align with the energies of growth and abundance.

Traditional celebrations often include large gatherings, lighting bonfires, music and dancing, decorating with summer flowers, feasting and spending time in nature.

Litha serves as a reminder to honor the masculine sun's life-giving energy and to celebrate the peak of summer. By connecting with ancient traditions and the natural rhythms of the Earth, may you find a sense of harmony and renewal, carrying the solstice's warmth and light into the months ahead.
